[LW11] Raymarine S1000 bare wire connection to Garmin Echomap Chirp
Hi, I am trying to determine the bare wire connection for a Raymarine S1000 to Garmin echomap FF and plotter.

The Garmin has 4 wires for NMEA 0183 and I want to know which bare wire colors to connect them to on the Raymarine S1000.

Garmin
1)NMEA 0183 Rx (in) is a BROWN Wire
2)NMEA 0183 Tx (out) is a BLUE Wire
3) Ground wire (power and nmea) is a BLACK wire
4)Power is a RED wire.

The Raymarine S1000 has 4 wires:
1) -ve out is a BROWN wire
2)+ve out is a Green wire
3)+ve in is an ORANGE wire
4) -ve in is a Blue wire

Thank you in advance for your help!

RE: [LW11] Raymarine S1000 bare wire connection to Garmin Echomap Chirp
Dear sebastian,

Thank you for your query.

To send data from the S1000 to the Garmin, you will need to connect as follows;

S1000 +ve out is a Green wire > NMEA 0183 Rx (in) is a BROWN Wire
S1000 -ve out is a BROWN wire > Garmin Ground wire (power and NMEA) BLACK wire

To connect data from the Garmin to the S100, you will need to connect as follows;

Garmin NMEA 0183 Tx (out) is a BLUE Wire >S1000 +ve in is an ORANGE wire
Garmin Ground wire (power and NMEA) BLACK wire > S1000 -ve in is a Blue wire

You will need to check what NMEA0183 sentences are RX TX by both products to ensure the data you want is available.

Many Thanks
Louise
