Q1: Does the tiller pilot take the compass value, apply deviation to it and produce magnetic? A1: Yes Q2: Then does it apply the variation to the magnetic to produce the true heading? (TVMDC). A2: Yes Q3: Is the course heading display Magnetic or True? A3: Should a valid variation value be entered, then the reported heading reference will be True. Should no variation value be entered, then the reported heading reference will be magnetic. |
