Interfacing a product's NMEA 2000 interface to SeaTalkng backbone

Raymarine offers adapters to mate Raymarine and third party products having a NMEA 2000 communications interface (DeviceNet Micro-C ... typically such devices are terminated with a male plug/socke) to a spur socket of a SeaTalkng backbone which has been constructed from Raymarine SeaTalkng networking components. Should the Raymarine or third party product's NMEA 2000 communications port or its NMEA 2000 spur cable feature a DeviceNet (M) or DeviceNet (F) socket or plug, then one the following adapters may be used to interface the product as a spur to a SeaTalkng backbone:
- A06045 / 15.7in (0.4m) SeaTalkng Spur to DeviceNet (F)
- A06075 / 39.4in (1.0m) SeaTalkng Spur to DeviceNet (F)
- A06082 DeviceNet (F) to SeaTalkng (M) Adapter and an appropriate length of SeaTalkng Spur Cable

NOTE: the maximum length of the cables ((to include the product's NMEA 2000 cable) used to construct a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 spur must not exceed 6m. Should the product not be located within 6m of an available spur socket within the backbone, then the backbone must be extended to within 6m of the product.

- A06078 / 3.9in (0.1m) SeaTalkng Spur to DeviceNet (M)
- A06076 / 39.4in (1.0m) SeaTalkng Spur to DeviceNet (M)
- A06046 / 59.1in (1.5m) SeaTalkng Spur to DeviceNet (M)

The cable length of any spur (device to backbone) should not exceed 6m. Should the above listed adapters not be long enough to accommodate interfacing the device to the backbone in a manner which will permit this restriction, then it would be recommended that a cable assembly which has been constructed from a SeaTalkng Spur to DeviceNet (F) Adapter and Maretron NMEA 2000 cable (up to 4.5m) having DeviceNet Micro-C (F) plug on one end and a DeviceNet (M) plug on the cable's other end be used to connect the device to a spur socket within the backbone. Otherwise, it would be necessary to extend the backbone to within 1.5m (6m if using the above listed cable assembly) of the device to be connected.

Should a third party product's NMEA 2000 communications port or its NMEA 2000 spur cable not feature a DeviceNet (M) or DeviceNet (F) socket or plug, then one the following adapters may be spliced to the product's NMEA 2000 cable:
- A06043 / 3.25ft (1m) SeaTalkng Spur to Stripped End Cable ... to be spliced to third party cable featuring a proprietary plug
- A06044 / 9.75ft (3m) SeaTalkng Spur to Stripped End Cable ... to be spliced to third party cable featuring a proprietary plug
