The MMSI is report on the VHF radio's screen when it is switched ON from the OFF state. It may also be accessed via the command sequence MENU->SETUP->DSC SETUP. Should the VHF radio already have an MMSI entered into it, then the VHF radio will need to be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be erased. A new MMSI will need to be acquired from BOAT US (for vessels which do not navigate foreign waters) or the FCC. Boat US also has an option to transfer the MMSI, but you may well need information concerning the original owner of the MMSI.
