POE injector's Status LED is illuminated and is red

Raymarine/FLIR POE injectors feature two RJ45 sockets. One of these sockets (marked with a red warning label and referred to as the injector's POE socket) is designed to be mated to the POE device (ex. CAM220IP, CAM210IP, CAM200IP, etc.). The most common installation error associated with a POE injector involves a failure to connect the POE device's RJ45 plug to the correct RJ45 socket of the POE injector. Care should be taken to ensure that this connection is properly performed, as connecting the POE injector's POE socket to the RJ45 plug of a device which is not designed to be powered via a POE injector may result in damage to the device's Ethernet communications circuitry.

When powered, the POE injector's Status LED will be illuminated red until a POE load (power draw associated with a connected POE device) is sensed by the injector's POE socket. When powered and a POE load is sensed by its POE device socket, then the POE injector's Status LED will be illuminated green. Should the POE injector be correctly installed, the POE device be operational, and the POE injector's Status LED be illuminated and be red, then it would be recommended that the POE device be connected directly to the POE injector's POE socket. Should doing so cause the POE injector's status LED to be illuminated and green, then it would indicated that an Ethernet cable lacking POE leads had previously been installed between the POE injector and the POE device or that the Ethernet cable assembly connecting the POE injector to the POE device has suffered a failure. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing how to test Ethernet networking components. However, should connecting the the POE device directly to the POE injector's POE socket cause the POE injector's Status LED to remain red, then the POE injector should be replaced or sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
