RE: [CA11] Updating ST6000 Autopilot
OK, thanks. If I wanted to update the course computer as well, which Raymarine product would be best while still being able to use the existing flux-gate compass, rudder angle indicator, and rotary drive? Thanks

RE: [CA11] Updating ST6000 Autopilot
FARALLON,

Raymarine's Evolution autopilots were introduced approximately six years ago and have since been the only autopilots sold by Raymarine. Evolution autopilot systems do not utilize a fluxgate compass as had earlier Raymarine autopilot. Instead, the EV-1 CCU of Evolution Autopilots combines course computer processing with a 3-axis digital accelerometer | 3-axis digital compass | 3-axis gyro digital angular rate sensor. The EV-1 CCU is interfaced to a p70S/p70R autopilot control head and to an actuator control unit ACU, which in turn power the autopilot's drive unit. The currently installed rudder reference transducer and drive unit may be retained for use with the Evolution autopilot. Please click here to view more information concerning Evolution autopilots.

Raymarine offers Evolution Autopilot Core Packs which include the components specified above and the networking components required to interface them to one another. If a Type 1 Mechanical Rotary Drive has been installed (and is appropriate for the weight of the vessel), then a T70155 EV-200 Sail corepack would be required. If a Type 2 Mechanical Rotary Drive has been installed (and is appropriate for the weight of the vessel), then a T70161 EV-400 Sail corepack would be required.
