Dear Ian,

Thank you for your post.

What software are you running on the AIS700 and the Axiom?

Marine traffic does not show live data and it maybe that the vessel can be displayed on marine traffic from an older transmission. Are you sure the vessel next to you is definitely transmitting AIS data?

Are there any other obvious issues?

Many Thanks
Louise

Am entered the ais data with ais2pro on ais700. The axiom runs 3.10.71

Dear Ian,

Have you looked on another AIS unit to confirm the boat is transmitting or not transmitting?

Are there other problems with the AIS showing target data or is the only issue that you can see a boat moored next to you on marine traffic but not on your AIS?

If this is the case Marine Traffic could be displaying delayed data, you cannot use Marine Traffic to test your AIS. the data is not accurate.

Many Thanks
Louise

I use Marine Traffic. I believe that if you click on the target ICON it will indicate that when that position was recorded. Some positions are also received via satellite.

Dear Morowsky,

That is correct if you hover the cursor over the target, the last transmitted time is shown.

Many Thanks
Louise
