Connecting older and newer MFDs with HS5 Switch
Can an E120 MFD "communicate" with an ES98 MFD via an HS5 SeaTalk Network Switch?

RE: Connecting older and newer MFDs with HS5 Switch
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum jimenet1,

Ethernet communications between these two generations of MFDs is not supported. While it would be possible to interface both MFDs as spurs to a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng backbone, this interface will not support sharing of high bandwidth data such as cartography, radar imagery, fishfinder imagery, satellite weather, satellite radar, IP camera video, or thermal camera control. Sharing of such features would require that both MFDs be of the current generation of MFDs (i.e. a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs).
