C/E-Series Classic/Widescreen MFD screen insufficiently bright

The most common cause for the reported issue is that the MFD was last operated with the Palette configured to Night and/or that the backlight level reduced. To change the Palette to Day and to configure the MFD for maximum backlight level, perform the following:

- Power OFF the MFD
- Power ON the MFD
- Wait at least 3 minutes for the MFD to complete booting
- Press the OK button
- Press and release the POWER button
- Rotate the rotary selector clockwise through 2 complete revolutions or hold the right side of the trackpad pressed in for 10 second. Doing so will increase the Backlight Level to full brightness.
- Press the 4th function key to the right of the POWER button to toggle the Palette configuration setting.

Should this fail to make the MFD's screen sufficiently bright, then it is recommended that the MFD's Power Cable be unplugged from the MFD's Power/Communications Interface Panel and that the loaded system voltage be measured at the cable's plug. Should the measured voltage be within the operating range of the MFD, then it is recommended that the MFD be bench tested / serviced by Raymarine's Product Repair Center.
