COG/SOG filter unavailable
I have a E97 MFD with external GPS150 from Digital Yacht connected to NMEA port 1 at 38400 Bauds. Sentences send by GPS are :

GGA/GLL/RMC/GSV/GSA/VTG/ZD at 1 Hz rate.

Internal GPS is disabled.

GPS works well. I can see its status with HDOP equals to 0.6.

My problem is the COG/SOG filter is unavailable (stay grey). I cannot select the level of this filter. So the course vector changes a lot with boat oscillations.

With internal GPS, this menu is available.

Why COG/SOG filter is unavailable with external GPS ?

Patrice

RE: COG/SOG filter unavailable
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Patrice,

It has been verified that the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD do not presently support COG/SOG filtering when interfaced to a NMEA 0183 source of such data. Should the NMEA 0183 source of GPS data have COG/SOG filtering options, then it would be recommended that such filtering be performed at the GPS data source. As is does not appear that the Digital Yacht GPS 150 has configuration settings to control COG/SOG filtering, a feature request will be submitted to consider the addition of COG/SOG filtering for data received from a NMEA 0183 GPS data source.

Please click here more information concerning product and feature suggestions.
