Autopilot is moving rudder in the incorrect direction

Drive units feature reversible DC motors. Should a rudder reference transducer (if so equipped) be correctly installed and correctly indicating the rudder's position (if not, then click here), and the rudder reference transducer has been verified to correctly report the direction of the rudder's movement, and dodge/steering commands executed when in AUTO mode cause the rudder to move in the opposite direction of that which was commanded, then the drive units motor leads have been connected to the incorrect MOTOR terminals of the ACU or autopilot course computer. Similarly, should a rudder reference transducer not be fitted to an Evolution autopilot ACU and dodge/steering commands executed when in AUTO mode cause the vessel to steer in the opposite direction of that which was commanded, then the drive units motor leads have been connected to the incorrect MOTOR terminals of the ACU computer.

To correct this installation error:
1) disconnect the drive unit's motor lead which had been connected to the ACU or autopilot course computer's MOTOR A terminal and instead connect it to the ACU or autopilot course computer's MOTOR B terminal
2) connect the drive unit's motor lead which had been connected to the ACU or autopilot course computer's MOTOR B terminal to the ACU or autopilot course computer's MOTOR A terminal
