Em-Trak B100 AIS and C80 Plotter
I recently bought a new boat, it came with an Em-Trak B100 AIS unit and a S100 Splitter which were not connected.

I know nothing about connecting these things and the local contractor knew less!

I have a conversion of their color wires to the C80 wire colors.

Is there a diagram of how I connect this to my older C80 Plotter.
Where would I find the place to connect.

I have an SPX 30 box and I see I could connect GPS data to that, but is there any point?

Any great ideas appreciated!

RE: Em-Trak B100 AIS and C80 Plotter
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Breezotoo,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. The AIS receiver/transceiver should not be interfaced to the NMEA 0183 terminals of the SPX autopilot course computer, as Raymarine autopilot course computers are neither designed to support 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 communications nor are they designed to process/bridge NMEA 0183 AIS data sentences (ex. VDO, VDM, ALR, etc.) to SeaTalk (the communications bus through which the SPX autopilot and MFD should have been interfaced to one another). In this case:
- the MFD NMEA 0183 Cable's IN+ (white) lead will need to be interfaced to the Em-Trak B100 AIS transceiver's 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 OUT+ (brown) lead.
- the MFD NMEA 0183 Cable's IN- (green) lead will need to be interfaced to the Em-Trak B100 AIS transceiver's 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 OUT- (blue) lead.
- the MFD NMEA 0183 Cable's OUT+ (yellow) lead will need to be interfaced to the Em-Trak B100 AIS transceiver's 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 IN+ (white) lead.
- the MFD NMEA 0183 Cable's OUT- (brown) lead will need to be interfaced to the Em-Trak B100 AIS transceiver's 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 IN- (green) lead.
