updating e95 software
Just bought a boat with a E95 and it seems to read the card with the Lighthouse charts OK but it doesn't recognize the microSD when I tried to update the software. Tried both card slots, no difference. Both slots read the chart card OK. Used the microSD to upgrade another system and it worked fine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

RE: updating e95 software
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum salrman,

What version of software is presently installed within the MFD's memory?

RE: updating e95 software
salrman,

With an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD operating with such an early version of software, the microSD which has been populated with the software update files must be inserted into the MFD's memory card reader prior to powering the MFD ON. Should you attempting to update the MFD's software in the manner specified via the first sentence of this response and the MFD's software not be updating, then the problem may be caused by any of the following:
- the root level directory of the microSD memory card contains the downloaded software update Zip file rather than the software update files which should have been copied/extracted from the downloaded software update Zip file ... select and then cut the downloaded software update Zip file from the microSD memory card, paste it onto your PC's desktop, open the Zip file which has been pasted onto the PC's desktop, select and copy all files found therein, and then paste the copied files into the root level directory of the microSD memory card.
- the capacity of the microSD memory card is too large ... the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs are designed for use with microSD memory cards having capacities of up to 32GB. If a microSD memory card having a greater rated capacity has been purchased, then an microSD memory card will need to be purchased.
