Substituting blanking plugs
I have two empty spur ports (white) on my Seatalk NG system to plug and I happen to have two blue backbone plugs left over. Can I use the blue plugs in the white ports?

RE: Substituting blanking plugs
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum arcadiahunter28,

Q. I have two empty spur ports (white) on my Seatalk NG system to plug and I happen to have two blue backbone plugs left over. Can I use the blue plugs in the white ports?

A. Negative. Unlike an A06032 SeaTalkng Blanking Plug, the blue SeaTalkng Terminatlon Plugs feature 120 Ohm resistors across it CAN-H and CAN-L pins to support proper termination a SeaTalkng backbone. SeaTalkng Termination Plugs should only be installed within the SeaTalkng backbone sockets forming the two opposite ends of the backbone. SeaTalkng Blanking Plugs should be used to protect any unoccupied SeaTalkng spur sockets from the marine environment.
