[CA11] GPS to Loran position format??
Any chance this conversion option can be added back? I just purchased both the A98 and C97 and a little bummed this isn't available. Us Great Lakes guys still use Loran numbers a lot when fishing and without this I'll have to keep an old Garmin unit mounted also.

RE: GPS to Loran postion format??
Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forum qbayle,

LORAN C was decommissioned in 2010. Unlike prior generations of Raymarine MFDs (which had been developed when LORAN C was operational), Raymarine's a/c/e/gS-Series MFDs do not presently support Loran Time Difference (TD) coordinates. It is recommended that those have waypoint libraries containing Loran TD coordinates convert the Loran based waypoint data to lat/lon coordinates. Such conversion is supported by a number of PC applications such as Andren SeaMarks (formerly known as LoranGPS), USCG POSAID2, etc.. The conversion is a one-time action which would then permit the converted data to be entered into the MFD.

Raymarine has logged a feature request to consider addition of support for LORAN TD coordinates in addition to lat/lon coordinates already supported by these MFDs.

Please click here more information concerning feature suggestions.

qbayle,

Unfortunately, Raymarine has not yet released an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD software update supporting lat/lon to LORAN TD conversion. Please click here more information concerning feature suggestions.

RE: GPS to Loran postion format??
ahoch,

The final LightHouse II software update did not included this feature. As such, MFDs designed to support LightHouse II software (a/c/e-Series MFDs) will not have future support for this feature. For MFDs running LightHouse 3 software, the possibility of its inclusions within a future software update persists.

Proud owner of an Axiom 12. Any chance that Lighthouse 3 or updates will include ability to convert Loran to GPS? I have recently received a deceased friend's Loran book and would love to be able to share this with his family in an updated format. Appreciate your response.

RE: [CA11] GPS to Loran postion format??
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Michael,

As indicated to ahoch, for MFDs running LightHouse 3 software, the possibility of its inclusions within a future software update persists. However, Raymarine has not yet announced the inclusion of this feature within a future LightHouse 3 software update. Please see my earlier response for alternative applications which may be used to convert Loran TDs to GPS coordinates.
