David,

The link to Aero Marine Services has been corrected within my prior response. Aero Marine Services is located in Chicago, IL.

RE: ST6000 Disengaging to Standby
Hi Chuck,

I contacted Aero Marine. Their answer was to upgrade the whole system. I can't afford to do that. So, can you confirm that the course computers you named above can replace the Type 100 without me having to replace any of the connected items please?

Thank you,

David.

David,

Q: an you confirm that the course computers you named below can replace the Type 100 without me having to replace any of the connected items please?
- SPX-30
- S3G SmartPilot
- S3
- Type 400G
- Type 400

A: Yes. That said, the performance of the Evolution autopilots is significantly better than that of the autopilot course computers listed above (I have had one of these autopilots onboard my own boat), coupled with the fact that the of those autopilot course computers listed, parts and service are only available for the SPX-30, prudence should be exercised when considering investment in a second hand replacement autopilot course computer.

Thank you Chuck. I agree with your prudence approach, but I cannot afford a new system. I also have a problem having to replace all the peripherals when they are all working fine:)

RE: ST6000 Disengaging to Standby
Hi Chuck,

Through further research here in British Columbia I found a Certified Raymarine Technician at LeftMost Yacht Services in Langley BC. I sent my Type 100 Course Computer to him and a week later I have it back installed and working perfectly in the boat. My legacy system, which does all I need, is working again:)

Tel: 778 227 5389
email: service@leftmostyachts.com

Perhaps other Raymarine owners in my situation will want to know this.

Thanks,

David.
