[CA] Help please! Dragonfly 7 Pro Transducer Mounting
My boat (Bass Tracker 175) has a step-in transom, and I find that IF the bracket of Dragonfly 7 Pro were installed vertically (as we do normally), the transducer would sit too low; I am wondering if I can mount the bracket horizontally to the bottom of the boat (the horizontal/flat side of the step-in transom, as shown in the picture). I am worried that if I mounted it in this way, the bracket itself would cause disturbances.

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

RE: [CA] Help please! Dragonfly 7 Pro Transducer Mounting
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum BBS163,

I wouldn't expect that mounting the transducer bracket in the manner which you have suggested would adversely affect the imaging performance of the transducer when operating at typical fishing speeds (i.e. speeds below plane). However, mounting the transducer in the manner suggested would limits its swing within the bracket. Should the transducer not be able to kick up if it hits an obstruction, then damage may be caused to the transducer and/or its bracket. Additionally, the photo also appears to show that the transducer will be mounted 3/4" or more below that of the hull bottom forward of the transducer.
