(DG) R55006 functionality?

hi,

i need to join 2 4 wire gps cables. unfortunately the connection will be outdoors. rather than do 4 butt connectors and heat shrink, i thought about using a R55006 "connector box". is this an appropriate use of this product (i.e. outdoors)?

Thank you for your enquiry.

The R55006 is a splashproof junction box, but if you are mounting it outside, I would suggest that a more conventional fully waterproof junction box is obtained.
