[CA] axiom pro
I just purchased an axiom pro and the rv-220 transducers. It appears the transducers are not compatible for the 1k sonar?

RE: [CA] axiom pro
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum John,

Raymarine's marketing web pages are intended to highlight product features and provide some general information concerning products. Raymarine posts its product manuals on its Manuals and Documents web page to provide detailed information concerning its products, permitting customers review these documents in advance of product purchases, as well as to have access to the latest documentation addressing the latest features of their products when running the latest available product software. Raymarine Product Support is also available through Raymarine's Forum as well as through voice (1.800.539.5539) to address any pre-sales questions. Raymarine dealers may also provide pre-sales assistance. The list of supported transducers is specified within Chapter 2.3 Compatible transducers — Axiom™ Pro MFDs of the Axiom Pro MFD Installation Guide. The maximum supported depth specified within Chapter 8.2 Sonar Specification of this same document.

Raymarine produces the Axiom Pro MFDs, Axiom Pro S MFDs, and Axiom Pro RVX MFDs. Axiom Pro MFDs feature no internal fishfinder circuitry. Fishfinder features may be added to an Axiom Pro MFD though the installation of a fishfinder sonar module(s) providing the desired type(s) of fishfinder sonar imagery / depth performance and a compatible transducer(s). RealVision sonar imagery features may only be added to an Axiom Pro MFD by interfacing the Axiom Pro MFD to an Axiom RV MFD or an Axiom Pro RVX MFD to which a RealVision transducer has also been interfaced.

Axiom Pro S MFDs feature internal high CHIRP sonar circuitry and are exclusively designed to be directly mated to a CPT-S transducer to support high CHIRP conical sonar in depths up to those specified within the FAQ found here. Like Axiom Pro MFDs, additional fishfinder features may be added to an Axiom Pro MFD though the installation of a fishfinder sonar module(s) providing the desired type(s) of fishfinder sonar imagery / depth performance and a compatible transducer(s). RealVision sonar imagery features may only be added to an Axiom Pro S MFD by interfacing the Axiom Pro S MFD to an Axiom RV MFD or an Axiom Pro RVX MFD to which a RealVision transducer has also been interfaced.

Axiom Pro RVX MFDs feature internal RealVision CHIRP sonar circuitry and 1kW sonar circuitry supporting compatible 1kW CHIRP transducers or compatible 1kW 50kHz/200kHz transducers (the latter requires an adapter cable). Accordingly, these MFDs are equipped with two transducer sockets ... one supporting RealVision transducers and the other supporting compatible 1kW transducers. The MFD's internal RealVision sonar circuitry supports RealVision, DownVision, SideVision, and high CHIRP conical sonar imaging via the RealVision transducer(s). Like Axiom Pro MFDs and Axiom Pro S MFDs, additional fishfinder features may be added to an Axiom Pro MFD though the installation of a fishfinder sonar module(s) providing the desired type(s) of fishfinder sonar imagery / depth performance and a compatible transducer(s). The most common type of sonar module which would be added to an Axiom Pro RVX MFD would be a CP570 to address the high power CHIRP sonar imaging needs of those fishing in depths exceeding two to three thousand feet.

Please click here to view a FAQ providing further information on transducers which may be interfaced to Axiom Pro S and Axiom Pro RVX MFDs.

Per the FAQ referenced above, RV transducers support operation in the depths specified 900' (high CHIRP conical) and output relatively low power. 1kW transducers may be installed as an alternative to or in addition to an RV transducer(s) to support 1kW CHIRP or 1kW 50kHz/200kHz sonar imaging in very deep water.
