Adding Fishifinder features to C-Series Classic MFDs

The C-Series Classic MFDs have no internal fishfinder circuitry and their fishfinder features were dependent upon interfacing the display to a compatible fishfinder sounder module which in turn has been interfaced to a compatible fishfinder transducer. In the case of C-Series Classic MFDs, the DSM250, DSM30, and DSM300 Digital Sounder Modules (DSMs) would have met this requirement. Unfortunately, each of these DSMs were retired some time ago, and may now only be available from the second hand market (recommend checking Internet auction sites (ebay, Craigs List, etc.) or Raymarine dealers who also perform equipment installations). Raymarine will not be introducing a replacement Digital Sounder Module which would support use with C-Series Classic MFDs and the hsb2 Pathfinder Series Displays.

The DSM250 would have been interfaced to a C-Series Classic MFD's sounder socket via a cable assembly which would have been constructed from a R69081 3-Pin to 4-Pin hsb2 Adapter and an appropriate length of hsb cable (1m (R55001), 3m (R55002), 6m (R55003), 10m (R55004), 20m (E55010)). While limited inventory of hsb/hsb2 networking components were available at the time of this response, the R69081 3-Pin to 4-Pin hsb2 Adapter is no longer available from Raymarine.

The DSM30 and DSM300 would have been interfaced to a C-Series Classic MFD's sounder socket via an E65011 10m C-Serials Cable Assembly. Unfortunately, the E65011 10m C-Series Cable Assembly is no longer available. Should one be able to source a pair of R69081 3-Pin to 4-Pin hsb2 Adapters, then the aforementioned E65011 10m C-Series Cable Assembly could be replaced with an assembly which would have been constructed from a pair of R69081 3-Pin to 4-Pin hsb2 Adapters and an appropriate length of hsb Cable.
