ST5000
I have a ST5000 that is making crazy 90 degree turns to port when I use my trim tabs, is there a wire that has been crossed or something else.
Also the unit with be in Auto then turn itself to stand by without anyone touching it, what would the cause of this be.

What can I check or replace to fix my issues.

Thanks

RE: ST5000
What does the heading displayed on the ST5000 do when you use the trim tabs? Does it change?

When the autopilot goes from Auto to Standby without moving it, is usually due to lack of power to the autopilot. Check the voltage to the back of the ST5000 input.

The heading stays the same when hitting the trim tabs, it changes once the course direction is in a different direction

RE: ST5000
How about the voltage to the ST5000 when hitting the trim tabs?

The volts are 13.3 when in auto also it is saying low batt but shows 13 volts
When hitting trim tab they drop to 11
The when engines are turning it drops to 10
