[DG] EV 150
Just purchased a 150 to be used as a stand alone unit. Not interfaced with other electronics. Do I need a rudder reference sensor for it to operate correctly. (. Do not need a visual display to see where my rudders are for my intended use. I do have a EV 200 on other boat so I am aware of the benefits of a visual display. )

HI mr 88
Welcome to the forum,

As long as you are using hydraulic steering, there is no need for a rudder reference unit, although we always suggest it will improve performance.

Please refer to this FAQ for further information

thanks
Derek
