[CA11] Raymarine CP470 and Airmar M260
I understand that the M260 is not a CHIRP transducer, however it's already installed on my boat. I'm trying to find out if it will in fact work with the CP470, and if so, what cable can I use as an adapter to interface it to the CP470?

I am running Axiom RV's

RE: [CA11] Raymarine CP470 and Airmar M260
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum thecatch22,

Unfortunately, 50kHz/200kHz transducers (ex. those which were designed to be interfaced to a CP370, CP300, DSM300, or DSM30) cannot be adapted to be interfaced to a CP470 CHIRP Sounder Module. M260 is a name given to a family of 50kHz/200kHz transducers produced by Airmar which each featured unique circuitry to accommodate use with a specific marine electronics manufacturer's fishfinding product(s). Should the M260 have been designed for use Raymarine products, then it would typically be recommended that it be interfaced to a CP370 1kW 50kHz/200kHz Sounder Module.

OK thank you. In that case, is there a way to interface the M260 directly to the Axiom? If so, what's the part/item number for the cable adapter?

thecatch22,

Which model of Axiom MFD has been installed onboard the vessel? What make/model of fishfinding product had the M260 previously been interfaced to?

Axiom 12' RV. Was previously connected to Garmin product, but don't know exactly which. Let me know if you need to know the pin-out count on the Airmar.

RE: [CA11] Raymarine CP470 and Airmar M260
thecatch22,

While Axiom RV MFDs may be adapted for use with the version of the M260 which was designed for use with a Raymarine's hsb/hsb2/SL Pathfinder Series Fishfinders and CP370, CP300, DSM300, DSM30, and DSM250 Fishfinder Sounder Modules, it may not be possible to adapt the Garmin variant of the M260 for use with an Axiom RV MFD. It would be recommended that Gemeco (843.210.7000), a division of Airmar, Inc., be contacted to determine whether the currently installed version of the M260 may be adapted for use with a Raymarine CP370. It may be helpful to provide Gemeco with a photo and/or information from the transducer's identification tag). Should Gemeco identify that an adapter is available, then it may be possible to provide you with an additional Raymarine adapter which would then marry the adapter from Airmar to the MFD's Transducer socket. If responding to this thread with such information, then please additionally respond with information concerning whether the MFD will additionally be interfaced to a RealVision transducer.

Thanks again. Next question then... Is there an adapter that would connect this M260 to the CP370, or is that still a Gemeco question?

thecatch22,

Q. Is there an adapter that would connect this M260 to the CP370, or is that still a Gemeco question?
A. Indeed, this question would need to be addressed by Gemeco.
