[LW11] Ray 260 and Ray60 compatibility with Axiom MFD
I have a brand new sailboat that came with an Axiom 7 MFD. I need to purchase a VHF and AIS transceiver. I like the modularity, features and price of the older Ray260VHF and the price of the Ray60 VHF-both legacy products. Seems like the only advantage of the newer Ray63 is the built in GPS. I dont think I need built in GPS on the VHF though if networked with the Axiom7 MFD which has its own built in GPS, correct?
Questions: 1)Will both of these legacy radios work well with the Axiom 7 or should I put out the extra few hundred for the newer Ray63? 2) Is the AIS 700 the only transceiver with a splitter that will work with this setup or is there another option that will work as well? |
