[DG11] Low voltage Course Computer 150/400
Hi

Seatalk alarms low Battery voltage 9.5volts. Batteries at 13.4 volt and tested. Removed all but one instruments st6002 still show low voltage 9.5 Removing this and test at seatalk connections in course computer 150/400 show 9.5 with nothing attached to seatalk loop. 13.4 volt arriving into CP. I can power up loop less CP and show 13.4. Any other way to check if it is CP ? If CP dead what do you suggest best replacement. I have MFD 98A, Digtail radar, interface to St60 + wind dept speed. St6002 auto pilot, type 2 drive, CP, compass and rudder sensor.

Take it I only need to replace CP, st6002+ and ?. Replace With ? Will I need to add another seatalk to seatalk NG?.

Hope there is another test I can do to confirm CP fault.

Cheers

David

RE: [DG11] Low voltage Course Computer 150/400
Hi David,
Thankyou for the enquiry,

You should pretty much have the same voltage out as is going in to the course computer, so this looks like a computer issue.

You could return the computer to a Raymarine Service agent, they may be able to repair it, or preferably update the system to an Evolution autopilot. The Computer, Control unit and Fluxgate compass would need to be removed and replaced with an Evolution Sensor - EV1, an ACU400 and a p70s control unit.

If you connect the EV1, p70s and ACU400 to STng, this connects to the a98 and existing STng to SeaTalk interface, so no additional interface would be needed.

Thanks
Derek
