[CA11] ST70 control head
I found the problem with my autopilot control head that it had water in it and was shorting out. Are these supposed to be rain proof? Obviously this is installed in my cockpit and a cover is on it when not in use. I replaced this one with another used one.

RE: [CA11] ST70 control head
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Dkdoyle,

Indeed the autopilots control heads are designed to get wet. What you have likely detected is the presence of accumulated condensation. These products are designed with seals, which in this case appear to have failed. When exposed to warm/hot, humid environments, a product having compromised seals may draw in humid air as the temperatures falls. Once inside of the device, it may condense and over time may accumulate, as I suspect has been the case with your ST70 autopilot control head.
