[CA11] e120/airmar b164
I have e120s and added a thru hull airmar b164 1000kw that was recommended by raymarine . i can not read bottom after 300ft. and the scroll speed is so slow what you can see is 1/2 mile behind you. i found transducer settings on graph and changed to b164. but do not know what to put the transducer speed on . any help would be greatly aappreciated

RE: [CA11] e120/airmar b164
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Larry,

It is recommended that a DSM Reset (MENU->FISHFINDER SETTINGS->DSM SETTINGS->DSM RESET) be commanded, that the B164 (or B260 should the B164 not be listed) be selected from the Transducer selection options (MENU->FISHFINDER SETTINGS->TRANSDUCER SETTINGS->TRANSDUCER SELECTION), and that no change to the scroll speed or frequency (should default to Auto) be performed. Should the problem persist, then it would indicate a problem with the DSM or with 50kHz element of the B164 transducer. In the case of either problem listed above, it would be necessary to fault isolate the problem ... typically be testing the transducer with Airmar's TDT1000 Transducer Tester or an EDI transducer tester. In such cases it would be recommended that the transducer be tested by a Certified Raymarine Installer who is equipped with one of these transducer testers. Should the transducer's 50kHz and 200kHz elements be determined to be operational, then the fault would be isolated to the DSM300. As Raymarine can no longer service DSM30/300 Digital Sounder Modules, failing DSM30/300s should be replaced with a CP370. When replacing a DSM30/300 with a CP370, it is strongly recommended that the DSM30/300's power cable be replaced with the cable supplied with the CP370.
