[CA11] [Upgrade from E120 Classic to Axiom Pro
I am completing an upgrade from the old Raymarine E120 Classic to Axiom Pro on a 2010 SeaRay with Axius drives. Do you have any insight into how the Axius drives communicate with the new Axiom Pro MFD's?

RE: [CA11] [Upgrade from E120 Classic to Axiom Pro
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Jim,

It is my understanding that Mercury Marine's Axius and Zeus systems each feature a NMEA 0183 communications interface. As such and as should have been possible with the E-Series Classic MFD, the MFD's Port 1 will need to be configured to "NMEA 4800" and the MFD's NMEA 0183 Port 1 OUT+ (yellow) and OUT- (brown) will need to be interfaced to the NMEA 0183 IN+ and NMEA 0183 IN- leads/terminals respectively of the Vessel View NMEA Harness (or MercMonitor). In this way, NMEA 0183 sentences including navigational data (associated with a Go To or Follow Route command) will be transmitted by the MFD to the Mercury Marine Axius or Zeus system. Other data (ex. GPS, depth, etc) may also be passed to the Mercury Marine Axius or Zeus system via this communications path. The Axius system's controls would then be utilized to command the Mercury Marine Axius or Zeus system into track mode.
