[LW11] Unable to update A70 software
I've been trying to update the software on my A70 Chartplotter to no avail. Initially I was using a 2GB CF card but am now using a 32MB CF but still it isn't working. The card is formatted to FAT32. I am getting the SW update screen on startup but it does not seem to be able to read the pkgs off the CF card.
Attached is a shot of the startup screen and the contents of the CF card root directory.

RE: [LW11] Unable to update A70 software
Dear Denis+Ellis,

Thank you for your post.

I see you have uploaded these files on a MAC PC, you cannot format to FAT32 on a MAC only NTFS. Are you sure this is formatted to FAT32? This would explain why the A70 is not seeing the files.

I recommend using a windows pc and formatting the CF card to FAT32 and updating the chartplotter software first as you are currently on the initial release. Then proceed with the pilot update.

Many Thanks
Louise

RE: [LW11] Unable to update A70 software
Thanks -that worked! I had tried it before I saw this response. Note that the Mac does allow me to do a FAT32 format on the CF but it may not be fully compatible.

There are a couple of others threads I found on A series CF updates; it would be useful if the PC-only limitation were added to those for future reference.
