Full Version: [LW11] Access CAM220 from home network

We have a complete Raymarine setup running on our Leopard Catamaran. We've got two CAM220s installed, but don't use them much. Mainly because we can only access them via our Axiom, which is quite limited, no alarms, no surveilance or motion alarms.
For our home network we're using a Pepwave router with external access via VPN.
I was wondering, can we access the two CAM220s somehow from outside? With a surveillance program maybe, connected to the normal network? I guess we have to bridge our Raymarine network with the home network?
How can this be achieved please?
Dear franzdampf,

Thank you for your post.

To view the RTSP stream from a CAM200/210/220 Raymarine IP camera, you will first need to find out the IP address of the camera. The easiest way to do this, is to look in the diagnostics on the MFD, this works on both LH2 and LH3, or use the IP Utility that comes on the CD or some third party software like Wireshark. https://www.wireshark.org/

The stream address that you will need to enter will look like this rtsp://admin:1234@ (please replace the “” with the correct IP address of the camera)

You can use free software like VLC to view this stream. First set the PC to the same IP range of the camera, open VLC, click on Media, Open Network Stream and then enter the address, then click Play. You should then see the video feed.

Here is the link to download VLC.

In VLC played under the media tab select 'open network stream' and then enter the network url that will look like this;

This is a way to view the video stream, what are you wishing to achieve with surveillance SW? What SW are you intending to use?

There are no motion sensors on the CAM220 to alert of a presence for security.

Many Thanks
