Welcome to the Raymarine Forum hooligan6a,
For Raymarine mechanical linear drives, the face of the motor/gear assembly case facing the ram includes a label identifying the drive as "Type 1" or "Type 2". Additionally, a white decal is affixed to the side of the motor/gear assembly case. The product ID and serial number are printed on this white label. If supplied with the product ID (ex. M81130), then it may be possible to identify the type of mechanical linear drive.
