If you ever need to ask for help on the Raymarine forum or elsewhere, it's fantastic to have images of whatever it is that want to ask about. Photos on your phone are better than nothing, but very often not much better.
Much better, and much easier on a boat moving at 20+ knots, is a screenshot. All recent Raymarine MFDs have shortcuts that allow you to save an exact image of whatever's on the screen onto the card that's in the chart slot.
LightHouse 3: Axiom range, eS and gS-series upgraded to LH3
LightHouse 1 & 2: a, c, e, eS and gS-series MFDs
Classic and Widescreen series: C70, C80, C120, E80, E120, C90W, C120W, C140W, E90W, E120W, E140W
Once you have taken your screenshots you can copy them off the card using a Windows or Mac computer and then either add them to a post here on the forum, or send them to Raymarine tech support via email or our file transfer service, https://transfer.flir.com, if you are already dealing with someone in Raymarine tech support.
If you have to take a photo
Please:
Here are 3 examples of photos we've been sent that weren't at all useful:
And here's an example of a useful screenshot for comparison:
We can help you much better if we can clearly see what you're seeing.
Thanks.

- Select where to save the screenshots in Home > Settings > This Display > Screenshot File
- Press (or swipe) Power and then select Take Screenshot
LightHouse 1 & 2: a, c, e, eS and gS-series MFDs
- Select where to save the screenshots in Home > Customise > Display Preferences > Screenshot File
- Press Power and then select Screen Capture
Classic and Widescreen series: C70, C80, C120, E80, E120, C90W, C120W, C140W, E90W, E120W, E140W
- Press and hold the DATA key for around 10s. The screenshot will save to the CF card. A single beep means success, a triple-beep means failure.

If you have to take a photo
Please:
- Include the whole screen, not just the part that you feel is relevant. Often there's other vital information that we can't see off the edge of the frame
- Focus!
- Use as high-resolution as possible, both when taking the photo and when sending to us. Apple iOS devices in particular like to scale photos to tiny, thumbnail resolutions by default when sharing and these are just too small for us to see clearly
- If your picture is of your fishfinder view, turn off White Line and Bottom Fill modes, use an appropriate Manual Range and put the Speed Over Ground (SOG) as a displayed databox somewhere in the view.
