[LW11] Compatibility with NMEA2000 when SeaTalkNG and SeaTalk products are connected - svdlinden - 12-03-19 06:43 AM In the SeaTalkNG reference manual (81300-1) on page 6, there is this paragraph about limitations: "If SeaTalkng and SeaTalk(1) products are used together, do NOT connect an NMEA2000 backbone, as this product combination could compromise the integrity of the NMEA2000 system." I am not sure I understand this correctly. Does that mean that NMEA2000 devices cannot be connected to the SeaTalkNG backbone when, e.g., a SeaTalk to SeaTalkNG converter (E22158) is used? The manual for the converter doesn't mention anything like that. RE: [LW11] Compatibility with NMEA2000 when SeaTalkNG and SeaTalk products are connected - Louise - Raymarine - Moderator - 12-05-19 05:16 AM Dear svdlinden, The use of ST1 products networked with a STng system is fine as long as networked correctly. The manual needs updating, this is referring to the earlier days of STng. I will get this attended to. Many Thanks Louise |
