[CA11] C120 replacement with E125 - Mrneng161 - 12-22-19 01:23 AM

I currently have an older c120 with a dsm300 running P66 transducer and next to it I have a A68 with a CPT100 on my center console. I wish to remove the C120 and place a E125 in there with the R70011 bezel kit to try to make things look correct.

Would the E125 be compatible to the Dsm300 and P66 and if so what cable would I need to connect it?

Second question is would I be able to go a different route and network the E125 to the A68 and use the current sounder and transducer from the A68? Could this be accomplished with a Raynet to Raynet cable?

Thank you
Tom

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Tom,

Q1. Would the E125 be compatible to the Dsm300 and P66 and if so what cable would I need to connect it?
A1. Yes. An operational DSM30/300 may be interfaced to an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD or HS5 RayNet Network Switch via a cable assembly which has been assembled from an A80272 RayNet (M) Pins to SThs (M) Socket Adaptor Cable and an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) Cable.

Q2. Would I be able to go a different route and network the E125 to the A68 and use the current sounder and transducer from the A68? Could this be accomplished with a Raynet to Raynet cable?
A2. Yes and Yes. The a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD may be interfaced to one another or to a HS5 RayNet Network Switch via an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) Cable.

Another question while I am exploring my options.

If I installed a CP100 with a CPT 100 and ran it to the E125 would I gain anything over just running the E125 off the internal sounder of the A68 with a CPT100 transducer?

Thank you,

Tom

Tom,

Q. If I installed a CP100 with a CPT 100 and ran it to the E125 would I gain anything over just running the E125 off the internal sounder of the A68 with a CPT100 transducer?
A. With respect to fishfinding features to be added, none with be added. However, the primary advantage of an external fishfinder sounder module is that its sole function is to process analog fishfinder transducer signals. As such external sounder modules do not have additional circuitry (ex. displays, WiFi, etc.) which can be a source of signal noise which can adversely affect fishfinder performance. Typically, external fishfinder sonar modules will provide the greatest level of fishfinding performance (depth and image quality) over a MFD's internal fishfinder circuitry. Accordingly, I generally recommend that an an external fishfinder sounder module be chosen over a MFDs internal fishfinder sonar for those seeking maximum fishfinder performance.
