[CA11] AIS displayed on Axiom from Icom VHF? - SE-FL - 01-03-20 08:50 PM
I’m looking at getting the Icom 506 vhf with NMEA 2000 and AIS. My understanding is that the ais target info will be displayed onto my axiom over the cart display and also radar display, is this correct? Thank you

Displaying AIS targets within an Axiom MFD's Chart application requires that the MFD (or interfaced GPS sensor) have acquired a GPS position FIX and that it be properly interfaced to a AIS receiver/transceiver having a NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 communications interface. In addition to the items listed above, displaying AIS targets with the Radar application would require that the MFD be interfaced to a source of heading data (ex. Evolution autopilot, AR200 Augmented Reality Sensor, etc.).
