[LW11] Adding second autopilot ? - leemarkadams - 01-09-20 03:41 PM We currently have a Raymarine autopilot on our sailing boat (ST6001 head, S3 computer, type 2 liner drive) linked to the Axiom pro 9S MFD (although the MFD does not control the autopilot like the old C80 did). Looking at possibly adding a second autopilot system (Head, computer, drive unit and sensor) to allow for redundancy during long crossings, so can this be done? RE: [LW11] Adding second autopilot ? - Louise - Raymarine - Moderator - 01-29-20 08:09 AM Dear leemarkadams, Thank you for your post. You can install a second pilot but it will have to be isolated from the network whilst not in use, you cannot have 2 pilots live on the same network. You could put in a 3 way switch for ease of choosing the pilot you wish to use. Many Thanks Louise RE: [LW11] Adding second autopilot ? - leemarkadams - 02-04-20 02:35 AM Louise, many thanks and am thinking of adding a new evolution autopilot system to link to my existing system and then using the current autopilot as the "spare". Would this be the best option? Many Thanks Louise |
