CONNECTING SMARTCRAFT 5000 TO RAYMARINE ES88 MFD - jimenet1 - 06-06-16 09:41 AM My 2003 Searay 390 Motoryacht is equipped with Mercruiser Hozizon 8.1 engines connected to an Smartcraft SC5000 system. I recently installed a Raymarine ES98 MFD. Will the old Smartcraft 5000 "talk" to the new Raymarine MFD? RE: CONNECTING SMARTCRAFT 5000 TO RAYMARINE ES88 MFD - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 06-24-16 02:54 PM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum jimenet1, The answer to your question is dependent upon whether Mercury Marine's SmartCraft to NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway is compatible with your engines. While it is believed that Mercury Marine's SmartCraft to NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway is compatible with your engines, it is recommended that this be verified with Mercury Marine. If so, then the SmartCraft side of the SmartCraft to NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway would be interfaced as a spur to your engine system's backbone. The NMEA 2000 side of the SmartCraft to NMEA 2000 Engine Gateway would in turn be interfaced as a spur to a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng backbone to which the Data Master a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD is or will also be interfaced as a spur. |
