[CA11] i60 wind issues - Lajimo - 02-01-20 01:14 AM

My i60 wind system started working intermittently and then just stopped working entirely. The display panel powers up but the needle is frozen at 0 degrees and three dashes show for speed. As recommended elsewhere in the forum I’ve verified voltages at the mast harness connector and the connection to the back of the panel. All are within the required ranges, and connections are good. The top of mast indicator is working well - ie spins and aligns with wind direction and connection there is also good. So I conclude the problem is. With the i60 unit itself. Is it worth sending in for repair or better to just replace it?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Lajimo,

Should you have performed the masthead wind transducer tests specified within the FAQ found here, and should the measurements have been made from the transducer cable's blade connectors which had been unplugged from the back side of the instrument, then it would typically be recommended that the i60 Wind instrument be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced. The flat rate repair price for instruments is approximately 1/2 the cost of a new product.
