[LW11] installation of EV-1 sensor on a steel boat - getaway - 02-03-20 08:58 AM Hello For my Raymarine autopilot, I have to change my failed x30 central unit for a new UC200 with a EV-1 sensor. My boat has a steel hull, including the deck. Could I install this sensor directly on the deck or even inside the boat? Or do I need to elevate it in the mast, as it was done for the fluxgate sensors Thank you for advice. The installation inside a steel vessel or fixing to a steel deck is not recommended. It is recommended it is elevated above the metal surfaces to reduce deviation, by at least a metre. Please refer to the installation manual for further information available here. Many Thanks Louise |
