[CA11] Testing linear rudder transducer m81188 - Simon30 - 02-06-20 08:48 AM

Hello. Im having a no rudref message on my st6002. I am suspecting my m81188 linear rudder sensor. Wiring is good from the sensor to the board. I cant find any spec on how to test the rudder itself. Do i use the same resistance spec as a rotative rudder sensor ?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Simon,

A. Yes. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing the subject of how to test a rudder reference transducer.

Thank for your help. I did the test ; and transducer is not within specs. Since the m81188 seems to be no longer available, is there another part that would be a direct fit to replace it ?

Simon30,

As you may be aware Raymarine only manufactures and sells rotary rudder reference transducers today. Those seeking a linear rudder reference transducers are generally recommended to consider the Seastar (Teleflex) AR4502RM Smartstick Rudder Reference Transducer..
