[LW11]Element 12HV Side Imaging Not Giving Deatail - Cillian365 - 03-25-20 09:08 AM

Hi I recently bought a raymarine element 12hv. I have it installed on my boat and have brought it out a few times. My problem is im not getting much detail from the side imaging using the hyper vision. I have tried adjusting different settings and nothing has worked. Would you have any idea what this could be? I have been getting the odd low voltage message on the screen. I have it connected to a new 12v battery with an 5amp inline fuse per the instructions. I extended the black cable a small bit to connect to the battery
Could it be the transducer alignment either? Ive attached some screenshots

Dear Cillian365,

Thank you for your post.

Is the battery supplying a good 12v supply to the Element? Has it been fully charged? Does the Alarm sound when starting the engines or using other equipment on the vessel?

What transducer have you installed?

Where is the transducer positioned? Please provide images where possible.

Are you getting a clear image using other settings?

Many Thanks
Louise

The Element in 1.2MHz Mode is VERY sensitive to noisy signals from motors or cables.
Had a same problem. I used the Element on the same battery as my trolling motor.
NOPE!
Then I only put my LIPO bag near the battery for the trolling motor.
NOPE!
Now I have 1m distance to trolling motor, cable and battery.
Perfect images ;-)

Dear Oschi,

Thank you for the feedback.

I will send this to the design engineers to look over and to see if they have any suggestions.

I am still reverting to the email you sent with this information.

Many Thanks
Louise
