[CA11] RV 100 - huckleberry - 04-24-20 11:12 AM Hello, I talked to you sometime ago about the problem that I was having tracking the bottom with my RV100 with the Axiom Pro 12 at higher speeds on my relatively long, flat bottom Aluminum boat. After going over all of the possible problems of mounting and placement of the transducer, Chuck suggested that I use an additional transducer, the P319. I just wanted to make sure that this was still the newest, latest, greatest transducer that you would suggest? Thank you. RE: [CA11] RV 100 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 04-24-20 03:17 PM Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum huckleberry, The P319 would indeed be my recommendation to provide bottom tracking at higher speeds than are presently supported by the RV100 onboard your boat. RE: [CA11] RV 100 - Snapper - 04-28-20 04:44 PM Chuck, what is the max speed for the RV100 to track the bottom properly? RE: [CA11] RV 100 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 04-29-20 07:46 AM Snapper, Q. What is the max speed for the RV100 to track the bottom properly? A. This value will vary with each hull design and with how well the transducer was installed. As such, no value can be supplied. The low power / high frequency conical CHIRP channel (Sonar) supported by the RV transducer will typically yield tracking at higher boat speeds than will other sonar channels supported by the RV transducer. Hulls having shallow drafts will typically lose bottom at lower speeds than deeper drafting hulls. Finally, these transducers are designed to primarily support sonar operation at speeds below plane. The accommodation for the additional use of a 50kHz/200kHz in-hull or thru-hull transducer should be utilized within applications where a RV or DV transducer cannot provide bottom tracking the desired planing speed. RE: [CA11] RV 100 - Snapper - 04-29-20 07:27 PM Ok thanks!!!! RE: [CA11] RV 100 - huckleberry - 05-06-20 04:32 PM Thanks Chuck, Where do I connect the P319 into and will I need any additional hardware other than the 30 ft cable that is supplied? Is the Axiom capable of showing both the P319 transducer and the RV100 transducer on the same screen at the same time? One last thing, is there a link or a place that you recommend ordering the P319 from? I see the part number A80171, which I am having a hard time finding, but I am also seeing a part number E66013, which one do I order? RE: [CA11] RV 100 - Chris - Raymarine - Moderator - 05-07-20 09:18 AM Hello Huckleyberry, To connect a P319(E66013) to a Axiom with a RV-100 transducer you use the A80492 y adapter cable. Please see the installation manual for more information. https://raymarine.app.box.com/s/3t839g2xf6nko4n0h9re535140rknnpz/file/154938504755 Raymarine dealers and retailers can be found at this link on our website, https://www.raymarine.com/buy/find-a-dealer.html The Axiom can display up to four fishfinder images at once. The E66013 is the correct transducer. |
