[CC11] Ray70 VHF no AIS targets - rick101 - 04-30-20 11:11 PM
My Ray70 was showing AIS targets normally until I did the latest SW update for the bootcode and SW to V1.46. It now fails the AIS self test and does not save the display brightness setting. I have not entered an MMSI number. Is that the problem?

Hello rick101 and welcome to the Raymarine forum.
Please perform a reset in the menu to then bring up the start up wizard. On the third step activate AIS? select yes then continue through and enter the MMSI. Continue through the set up.

Hi Rick,
While you are testing the Ray70, does the mfd see it in the diagnostics and is it getting a good gps fix?

Chris, I did not update the handset and it is not connected. Someone suggested I connect and update it and access the menu from there. I'll try that after lunch.

So I downloaded the boot file per instructions and reinstalled it OK. The vhf did not show a blinking message as per instructions. Then I deleted the boot file per instructions and downed the SW file and I get message no sw file found om MFD when attempting to install it. Tried again same message. Handset is now blank and will not turn on. Another wasted hour. Useless.

Solved. After reinstalling the VHF only update including the handset I'm once again seeing AIS targets as before.
