replacement of ST60+ with i60 or i70 - bartonk1 - 07-06-16 07:50 PM

I currently have an ST60+ wind instrument that isn't working for some reason. Since I am planning installation of my new eS98 MFD, I am thinking about replacing the ST60+ with an i60 or i70. I could connect the i60 or i70 to the existing wind transducer cable via an iTC-5, correct?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum bartonk1,

Before replacing the instrument display, it is recommended that the wind transducer be tested. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Should the test for the wind transducer not identify any problem with the transducer, then it may be directly interfaced to an i60 Wind Instrument. Alternatively, the transducer may be directly interfaced to an iTC-5 Analog Instrument Converter which in turn may be interfaced to an i70 Multifunction Instrument Display (MFID).

Thanks - that is very helpful. Not being electrically savvy, how does one supply 8V?

bartonk1,

Reducing voltage level from 12 to 8 volts is most commonly performed using a rheostat or variable voltage power supply.
