HEADING SENSOR TO a128 - Tidetim - 07-18-16 07:21 AM Purchased an a128 with Quantum radar. In order to be able to use MARPA and have accurate radar overlay, also purchased an AIRMAR H2183 Heading Sensor. Tried hooking it up, no luck. Setup function on a128 (System Settings, Data Sources, Heading) shows no info. Appear to have good 12v power to hdg sensor (>13vdc). I attached the White and Blue NMEA wires from heading sensor to the White and Green NMEA wires on the main power/video/NMEA cable on the a128 MFD. Not sure if I'm using correct NMEA wires from the heading sensor. Does anyone know if the a128 has a RS422 or RS232 interface? Thanks in advance! Stymied here in Va. Tim Leighton RE: HEADING SENSOR TO a128 - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 07-19-16 01:24 PM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Tim, According to the H2183's Installation Guide, you appear to have correctly interfaced the heading sensor the system: - MFD NMEA 0183 Port 1 IN+ (white) to H2183 NMEA 0183 OUT+ (white) - MFD NMEA 0183 Port 1 IN- (green) to H2183 NMEA 0183 OUT+ (blue) The MFD's NMEA 0183 Port 1 should be configured to NMEA 4800. The a9x/a12x/c/e/eS-Series MFDs feature a RS232 interface. Should there be some concern that the MFD's NMEA 0183 Port 1 may not be operational, then please click here to view a FAQ addressing how to test the MFD's NMEA 0183 Port 1. |
