new cp370 - vdm9 - 07-29-16 10:40 AM

hello
swoped out a failing dsm300 for cp370. system has e140w touch screens. the cp370 was an easy plug in install and works fine in manual mode but not in auto. i have updated the software on the e140w and still no change. the screen has too much noise, meaning a lot of vertical lines on it when in auto, but in manual i can dial it in no problem
any thoughts or advice?
see attachment
thanks

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum vdm9,

The photo which you had attached was taken with the vessel located in very shallow water. Does the symptom persist when the vessel is located in deeper water?

a local tech told me this may be the ping rate.
how do i evaluate/adjust the ping rate if that is possible
thanks

Hi vdm9,
I don't believe that the ping rate has anything to do with this issue, but the default ping rate is 80. On your E140W with the fishfinder page as the active page, press menu--->fishfinder setup--->dsm setup--->ping rate
You could also try applying a single ferrite to the transducer cable within 1 foot of the CP370.
Can you please post a pic of the issue when in deeper water.

Nothing at the moment, other than what was stated earlier.
