AIS False Alarms - jwestcaptain - 09-17-16 09:34 AM I have a model 250 AIS receiver and it works great. However, as more and more recreational boaters add AIS transceiver to their boats, they don't bother to turn them off while at the marina. As a result when I am approaching a marina and trying to dock, I get alarm after alarm--all from vessels tied to the dock. Can the Model 250 be adjusted to ignore vessels which are not moving or is there another solution? RE: AIS False Alarms - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 09-19-16 10:12 AM Welcome to the Raymarine Forum jwestcaptain, While there is no configuration settings of an AIS receiver/transceiver which would prevent the reported alarms, the MFD's MFD's Dangerous Targets alarm setting may be configured OFF when operating in close proximity to such object. The Safe Distance radius of Raymarine MFDs operating with LightHouse II or later software may alternatively be reduced to minimize or eliminate triggering of such alarms. |
