Dragonfly transducer location on pontoon boat - tomw1948 - 02-19-16 06:48 PM

What is the proper location for the transducer on a pontoon boat. Does the transducer need to be located 1-2" below the "toon" or about even with the toon due to submerged objects.

Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forum Tom,

It is recommended that you review the transducer's installation instructions. The instructions for positioning a Dragonfly transducer in relation to the bottom the hull are no different than those specified for any other transom mounted fishfinder transducer. Installing the transducer too low may expose the transducer to excessive hydrodynamic force (causing the transducer's pressure release to trigger) and/or produce excessive spray. Please see the photo below showing how the transducer should be located in relation to the bottom of the hull/pontoon.
