We are looking for a wifi router, extender and broadband system. The WiriePro says it does not work with the Raymarine MFD. Can you rcommend other systems that do work with the MFD or advise if there are any plans to make the WiriePro and Raymarine MFD compatible?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Lazybones,

Raymarine has not recommended any specific manufacturer's Wi-Fi routers, Wi-Fi extenders, or broadband systems. When seeking such products, it is recommended that the manufacturer of any such product ensure that the product is not restricted to Class A IPV4 Private Network address spaces (10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255), as such devices will conflict with the IP addressing utilized by Raymarine products.

Are there any plans to modify the addressing scheme to work with the Wirie products?

The Wirie gave me this response.

"They assumed they could use all 10.X.X.X addresses, which supports 16777214 devices. No boat or Raymarine install will ever have even close to that many devices. Their software should have been written to support a smaller set of devices (10.1.X.X for example which still supports 65534 devices) in order to avoid conflicts. It is not "correct" to reserve that many devices and preclude any other device on the network from using them."
