EV-100 system - donaldreeder - 11-20-16 12:19 PM

My boat has a 118 cc steering ram. The type 0.5 pump for the EV-100 autopilot system says it is good for cylinders up to 110 cc, and my cylinder is only slightly larger. Will this pump work and what operation problems might I encounter? I ask because an EV-200 system is about twice as expensive.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Donald,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. The Type 0.5 hydraulic pump would not be recommended for this vessel. In this case, a Type 1 hydraulic pump would be recommended. Poor autopilot performance and shortened drive and/or ACU life are the most common problem which would be encountered with an under-sized drive unit and ACU. Additionally, damage to autopilot components resulting from installation of an under-sized drive unit and ACU may not be covered under Raymarine's product warranty.
